  11. Change to the BRAINEX directory on your CD-ROM
  12.  
  13. From the dos prompt type:  INSTALL
  14.  
  15. You'll be asked to choose a drive letter to install the Brainex files.
  16. All of your door files be will placed there so be sure to pick a drive
  17. with plenty of room for future doors!
  18.  
  19. After installation you'll be given an opportunity to browse the Help file
  20. You can read it online or print it. To exit hit F10.

  22. * For best results: READ THE HELP FILE!

  24. You'll be asked for the drive containing your AUTOEXEC.BAT file and asked
  25. to modify it.  The install program will create a BRAINEX directory in the 
  26. root of the drive you specify. The BRAINEX directory will be added to your
  27. path statement, and the  environment variable:
  28.  
  29.    BRAINEX=C:\BRAINEX\BRAINEX.INI  {example if installed to drive C:}
  30.  
  31. will be added by a SET command. The drive letter is the one you specified.
  32. Brainex will copy the old AUTOEXEC.BAT to AUTOEXEC.BRX
  33.  
  34. *** REBOOT YOUR COMPUTER to let DOS update the PATH and SET changes

  40. Change to the BRAINEX directory on your CD-ROM

  42. From the dos prompt type:  SETUP

  44. Installation will automatically copy RomBrain/Request and the compiled file
  45. list for Shareware Avalanche to the drive/directory you previously chose for 
  46. Brainex door manager.

  48. You'll then automatically enter Brainex Door Manager and asked for RomBrain
  49. setup information.  If your unsure of your preferences you can just accept 
  50. most of the defaults except for the CD-ROM drive letter if it doesn't match 
  51. your drive.

  53. You'll then automatically enter Brainex Door Manager and asked for Request
  54. Brain setup information.  If your unsure of your preferences you can just 
  55. accept the defaults.

  58. │ Run BRAINSET to configure your BBS & CD-ROM information │

  60. Configure with your BBS information and for SHAREWARE AVALANCHE. Run BRAINSET 
  61. from the \BRAINEX directory on your hard drive.  Installation is setup to 
  62. copy the compiled SHAREWARE AVALANCHE filelist to \BRAINEX\ROMBRAIN.  This is 
  63. fine if you plan on only running SHAREWARE AVALANCHE online.  If you plan on 
  64. running other CD's make a directory such as /BRAINEX/ROMBRAIN/AVALNCH and 
  65. move the files:

  67.                 CDTYPE_D.1    CDTYPE_D.2    CDTYPE_D.3    CDTYPE_D.4

  69. to that directory.  When running BRAINSET to configure for CD's use disc
  70. type "D" for SHAREWARE AVALANCHE.  Use directory /BRAINEX/ROMBRAIN for file
  71. list location unless you've changed it.
